Since 1983, INAER was pioneer in the Iberian Peninsula in the use of helicopters for firefighting, as well as the transport of teams of firefighters and in the use of heavyweight helicopters such as the Kamov KA-32. Its crews have the most extensive experience and specialization in the prevention and extinguishing of fires, with more than 200,000 flight hours and the most modern aircraft currently dedicated to this activity.

INAER provides services for the prevention and fighting of forest fires in Spain on behalf of the Ministry of the Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, and in a number of Autonomous Communities such as the Canary Islands, Andalusia, Extremadura, Castile La Mancha, Murcia, the Valencian Community, Madrid, Aragón and Galicia. The company also has 8 helicopters and two amphibious aircraft which undertake operations against fires in Portugal.
